Pink October in figures
In France, 60,000 cases of breast cancer are discovered every year. But a cancer detected early can be cured (over 90% chance of survival). Screening is therefore essential. Between the ages of 50 and 74, screening should be repeated every 2 years, as 80% of breast cancers appear after the age of 50. Information and prevention are the two main objectives of Pink October and the Ligue contre le cancer.
In 2022, no fewer than 51 actions were undertaken as part of Pink October, and over 54 partners were involved in the campaign, which was rolled out in cities across the country. Thousands of people received information and guidance. All these initiatives converge to promote screening, in particular through mammography accompanied by a clinical examination.
