Household appliances The repair bonus will be doubled in 2024

Your toaster refuses to brown your toast, your dishwasher is temperamental and your vacuum cleaner vacuums at rest. In short, your household appliances are showing signs of weakness. But don't throw them away. They may be repairable. What's more, the repair bonus will cover part of the cost. The amounts will even be doubled, and more appliances will be covered by 2024.

Since 2022 and the anti-waste law for a circular economy (AGEC law), the repair bonus has been encouraging the French to repair their electrical and electronic appliances instead of throwing them away. Still too little used by the French, the French Minister for Ecological Transition has announced a series of measures to strengthen, simplify and extend the repair bonus. In 2024, the repair bonus will be doubled for 5 everyday appliances. In 2024, the repair bonus will be :

  • 30 € for a vacuum cleaner, drill or electric scooter
  • 50 for a washing machine, cell phone or touch-screen tablet
  • 60 € for a television set
  • 90 € for a laptop.
The repair bonus will also be increased by €5 for 21 other appliances (laptop, toaster, hob, iron, etc.). It will also be increased by 20% when the parts used for the repair come from the circular economy (reconditioned parts).
In other good news for consumers, 24 new appliances are eligible for the repair bonus. For example: epilators (€15), hair straighteners (€15), microwave ovens (€20), multifunction food processors (€15), desktop computers (€50), printers (€35).
No special formalities are required to benefit from the repair bonus. All you need to do is visit a "QualiRépar" approved repairer, whose list is available on the ecosystem.eco website.
